Why I'm Running

Water District #3 ratepayers deserve two things they haven't been getting: safe, affordable drinking water and leadership that is honest with them. I'm running to change that.

Video Interview

If you prefer to hear directly from me, watch this interview about the real-life impacts of water decisions in South Texas.

Running Dry: South Texas Water Project Faces Community...

An interview segment focused on water security and community concerns around large water projects.

  • What the project means for local families
  • Why transparency and accountability matter
  • Why water planning decisions must protect ratepayers first

Background and Issues

  • Avina Contract: Current leadership signed a contract granting Avina access to 5.5 MGD with the ability to request any volume at any time—committing roughly 95% of our drinking water to a single entity. The contract could be renewed at any time and was executed without meaningful community consideration. It has since been voided.
  • Alternative Water: Residents are owed a plain-language explanation of how giving away this much water won't compromise our long-term water security.
  • Arsenic Levels are High! We need answers on water quality & we need transparency.
  • Bond Funds: Where is the money going, what has been completed, and what measurable results have been achieved?

Community Advocacy & Coverage

  • TCEQ ruling approves contested hearings for Avina ammonia plant in Robstown

A major milestone: the state approved contested case hearings — a critical step toward formal review and accountability.

Need for Transparency

  • Live-stream all board meetings so every resident has access.
  • Post jurisdictional and CCN maps on the district website.
  • Agenda minutes along with Agenda packets should be posted.

Our community deserves water that is better than what the law says is “okay.”
